The British branch of Santander will block transfers to crypto -rhines
In 2023, the British Bank of Santander will block the Bitcoin-Targes transactions in order to protect consumers from fraud, writes Reuters.
Representatives of the financial organization did not specify the date of entry into force of the innovation.
From November 15, the bank will introduce limits to similar translations using mobile and online banking in the amount of up to £ 1000 (~ $ 1456) for the transaction and up to £ 3000 (~ $ 4368) in total within a month.
Restrictions will not apply to the conclusions of funds from the crypto -streak.
“In recent months, we have been observing a significant increase in victims of fraud with cryptocurrencies among customers. […] Payment restriction […] is the best way to make sure that funds are safe “, – says in the notification for customers.
Santander preserves the transfers introduced in July 2021 Binance. The decision was made after the warning FCA regarding the activities of the exchange in the country.
According to Finder, 47% of the largest British banks, including Lloyds, Nationalwide and HSBC, adhere to a similar Santander approach to crypto platforms.
